The Yellow Plum Tree

The Moment: I love sitting on the old plum tree that fell over but just kept on growing sideways. It's become my thinking spot where I go when I need to figure things out or just feel strong again. There's something magical about a tree that says, "Okay, I'm down, but I'm not out," and keeps making delicious fruit anyway.

What Made This Special:

  • What I Saw: Golden plums hanging everywhere, little birds hopping around, the coolest, colorful patches of lichen growing on the bark, and tiny mushrooms popping up like nature's decorations

  • What I Heard: Leaves whispering in the breeze, birds chatting to each other, that peaceful garden quiet with little buzzing sounds

  • What I Smelled: The sweetest plum smell when the wind blows just right, that rich earthy mushroom scent, fresh air that just makes you want to breathe deeper

  • How It Felt: The solid warmth of the tree trunk holding me up, bark that's rough but comfortable, perfect breeze on my face

  • Best Part: Picking a plum right there and biting into that juicy sweetness - like sunshine in fruit form, especially amazing on a hot day

Why This Moment Mattered: Sitting there, I felt this incredible sense of "I've got this." Like the tree was showing me that you can get knocked down and still be amazing, still give good things to the world. It's my reminder that tough times don't define you - how you keep growing does.

Garden Memory: This is my "strength tree" - whenever I need to remember that I'm tougher than I think, this is where I go. It's proof that the best stories aren't about never falling down, they're about what grows from where you land.
